We are a free-to-air dynamic community-based television station, being under the umbrella of the Television Media Group.

tvCentral has been broadcasting into the Waikato rural basin from their Matamata studio without interruption 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year since 2002.

In 2005 the group expanded operation into Rotorua with the purchase of iTV Live (GeyserTV), and with the launch of TV Rotorua on 22, July 2006.

The launch of tvCentral on November 15, 2007 saw further expansion into Hamilton, Tauranga and surrounding areas.

Our Philosophy

We are building tvCentral on a strong foundation. Providing high quality programming - both local and international, containing positive values and is "family safe". If you think that this means boring TV, well think again and check us out!

Many dedicated, like-minded people have become an integral part of the operation from workers and volunteers through to financial investors and family who believe in the concept of family safe television.

This in turn has attracted some of the most innovative technical people available, providing cutting edge technology to the network.

Our Aim

• To foster and strengthen community spirit by raising the profile of local people, organisations and projects.
• To provide 30% local programming content within our daily broadcast.
• To re-establish strong moral boundaries and ideals back into the television industry.

Our Region

Currently we broadcast to a potential 400,000 homes in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty from our Matamata broadcast centre.
